The Hanging Gardens are home to the largest collection of weeping trees in the world . They stand among original species , some of which are living fossils dating back to the time of the dinosaurs. Spread across 12 hectares, you'll discover trees from every continent, each with its own unique story and beauty.
Whether you are a tree lover and want to discover special species, or come for a relaxing walk, or to enjoy nature, the arboretum offers a new experience every season.

About the Arboretum
Rooted in passion and tradition
In 2004, Wouter and Heleen Oudemans began their dream: creating an arboretum on 30 hectares of land in Wedde. Inspired by family tradition and a love of trees, they transformed a former potato field into a vibrant landscape of woodland, ponds, and unique tree species.
The arboretum was created under the direction of tree expert Nico Schellevis. Initially, only native species were planted, arranged according to their geographical origin. Later, a specialization in weeping trees was added. The Hanging Gardens now boast the largest collection of weeping trees in the world and a wide variety of unique species.
From Weeping Trees to Living Fossils
Arboretum Tenaxx is more than just a garden with trees. It's a living museum, a place where nature, history, and science converge. But also, as Oudemans would say, a mirror of Mother Nature. Across twelve hectares, you'll find an unparalleled collection that draws visitors from around the world. From graceful weeping trees to ancient living fossils – every tree has a story waiting to be discovered.
